Man Confronts Pet Owner Living In Building That Doesn’t Allow Dogs

One man published a story of an encounter with a resident in his shared building on AITA, a subreddit devoted to assisting users in determining if they were right or wrong in a fight.n

The man’s 6-year-old daughter wants nothing more than a dog, but their apartment block has a stringent no-pets rule, so he can’t get her one. One day, the guy and his daughter were leaving when a fellow resident entered carrying a tiny dog in her tote bag.

The resident responded that she was merely dog-sitting for a friend who had just had a baby for a week and the dog was too elderly to bother anyone when the man chose to call her out for breaking the regulations. After a heated argument, the man threatened to notify the landlord if he saw the dog again.

One individual replied that they had spoken to the resident and the dog and that both were pleasant and wouldn’t create any problems when the man posted about the incident on the building’s group chat.

The current problem is that the man’s wife claims he overreacted, while his daughter claims dad lied about the no-pets policy or that rules are irrelevant. 1. She was only doing her friend a favor because she just had a baby, but it doesn’t mean she will have that dog in the building for the rest of her life.

2. OP should try making her daughter understand it again but just don’t make other’s people life difficult over the situation that can be manhandled

3. If it would have been such a big deal other people in the group chat would also have been bothered

4. It seems like you are making a mountain out of a molehill

5. OP needs to let her daughter trust him so it’s not a problem for people but OP

6. Stop blaming other people for your choice and preferences

7. Somebody here is speaking facts, what do you think?

8. OP needs to try better at parenting

9. This would have saved a lot of drama

10. Literally everyone is saying that OP is an A-hole because of the attitude he just adopted when he saw a dog

11. YTA and it’s not even a question

12. She is not even breaking the rules as she doesn’t own it, she’s just taking care of the dog temporarily as her friend is having a baby.

13.

14. Mind your own business and do some actual parenting

15. After all or in the end if you just put a little effort kids always understand your point of view

16. Other people are not responsible for managing your kid’s expectations

17. The child needs to understand that No means No

18. YTA

19. OP obviously did overreact

20. You are that neighbor congratulations!

21. OP needs to reconsider everything for the sake of her daughter otherwise, she will be having issues in the future making friends.

22. Well it was simple, the dog issue was between the landlord and the neighbor he was no one to interfere even if her daughter wanted to have a dog he could have made her understand that the dog is just temporary.
