Kittens Found Covered In Ink Are So Very Happy To Get Clean

Two very young kittens were rescued in England recently after being found “colored in” with marker.

Why anyone would do this to an animal is unimaginable, but luckily these two were found before their torment got any worse.

Police took the kittens to the Bradford Cat Watch Rescue (BCWR), where they were determined to be only around 4 or 5 weeks old.

“Here at BCWR KITTENS we often consider ourselves to be unshockable … we have dealt with most situations but this is a first,” Katie Jane, a rescuer with the group, wrote on Facebook.

The kittens had been colored with the marker all over their tiny bodies.

The little guys were named Shrek and Smurf, and were almost immediately given a bath to try and remove the ink from their fur.

Even after everything they’ve gone through, the kittens seemed to have no issue with being bathed …

… and were simply grateful to finally be safe.

Rescuers were careful while bathing the kittens, as the ink smelled like it could be a type of permanent marker, and they didn’t want to get the ink in the kittens’ eyes or mouths.

Shrek and Smurf were bathed twice – and will likely need more baths.

No one is sure what the motive was for coloring these kittens with marker, but at least now no one will ever be able to harm them again.
